SHORELINE ROTARY FOUNDATION This is the charitable umbrella organization founded in 1999 by the Rotary Club of Shoreline. The purpose of the Foundation was: 1. To: qualify donations and proceeds of fundraising efforts for the Internal Revenue Service’s status as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization. 2. To establish an Endowment Fund to broaden the opportunity to expand perpetuate the gifting to worthy causes, and 3. Provide for a meaningful and orderly method of determining the needs to which funds should be distributed. The Rotary Club of Shoreline Breakfast was invited to join the Foundation in 2000.
The proceeds of fund raising events hosted in behalf of the Foundation by both clubs are in turn given back to the local and world wide community to address the concerns of youth, aged, disadvantaged, and disabled in the spirit of Service-Above-Self and a desire to work toward world peace and understanding. The causes are many and are directed into the areas of Community, Vocational and International service. Four members of each club manage the activities of the Foundation. These Trustees meet monthly.
